Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use are the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for the Hemma app. The app asks you to agree to them before you create an account or sign in, and using Hemma means you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Hemma.
2. Using Hemma
You must be old enough to consent to use an online service in your country. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login secure. You agree to use Hemma for its intended purpose: a daily, good-faith photo ritual.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos you submit. By submitting, you grant Hemma a licence to display your photo within the app, in daily voting, and as the winning widget. You confirm you have the right to share what you submit.
4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Hemma has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. Do not post a photo, caption, place name, display name or username that is sexually explicit or contains nudity; violent, gory or threatening; hateful or discriminatory towards any person or group; harassing or bullying; illegal, or encouraging illegal acts or self-harm; infringing someone else’s rights, or showing people without their consent; or spam. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse other members.
5. Moderation, reporting and blocking
Every photo is screened automatically before it appears, and captions, place names and profile names are checked too. You can report any photo or profile, and block any member, from the ⋯ menu beside it. Blocking removes that member’s photos from everything you see in Hemma, including the daily featured photo and your widget, and also notifies us. We review every report and block within 24 hours. When something breaks these Terms we remove it and suspend or permanently ban the account that posted it, and a banned account’s photos are removed from Hemma. We may do this without notice.
6. Rewards & payments
Hemma is free to use at launch, including extras you earn in-app such as additional daily uploads, polaroid borders, and impact stats. We may offer an optional paid membership in the future, billed through the App Store and managed in your Apple account settings; if we do, we’ll update these Terms first. We may withhold or revoke rewards obtained through fraudulent or abusive referrals.
7. The App Store
If you downloaded Hemma from Apple’s App Store: these Terms are between you and Hemma, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims you or anyone else may have relating to it. Your use of the app must also follow the Usage Rules in the App Store’s Terms of Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
8. Disclaimers & changes
Hemma is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We’ll note the date above, and for material changes the app will ask you to agree to the new version before you continue.
